Upgrade Your Mindset + Life: Positive Affirmations
Do you get tired of the mean voice in your head?
You make a mistake and it calls you stupid. You stand in the mirror and it finds flaws. You’re treated badly and it says you deserved it.
Like that voice, I could go on and on.
The good news: you have the power to get rid of it. 💪🏻
I’ll explain how positive affirmations combat negative thinking, and how to practice them for a new, liberated you.
How do Positive Affirmations Really Work?
Do you know where the phrase to be stuck in a rut comes from?
In the 1800s, wooden wagons were still our main transportation - horse-drawn, big wheels.
On well-traveled dirt roads, people led their wagons along the path of least resistance. AKA, along the grooves worn in the earth from the repetition of many, many travelers before.
Only sometimes they’d get stuck. And it took a massive effort to lift that wagon from those grooves and place it on a new path.
Like a wagon on dirt, your thoughts form energetic grooves in your brain. Being hardwired for efficiency, your brain follows the path of least resistance. AKA, it likes to regurgitate your most repetitive thoughts.
Your own brain is stuck in a rut - of negative thinking! 🤯
Using positive affirmations sets your brain on a new path. Consistent, repetitive practice wears new grooves. Eventually, positive thoughts will overtake negative ones and become your mind’s default mode.
Time for You to Effectively Harness Positive Affirmations
Always state your affirmations in the present tense; use phrases like I am or I have. For example, I am beautiful. I have unique talents.
It may seem awkward at first because you don’t yet believe it. Trust that repetition will enforce new, positive beliefs. It will eventually feel natural.
You can read, write, listen to, and speak affirmations. Daily practice is key!

Remembering the wagon, this is not an overnight cure. Your brain will fight to stay in familiar territory.
But if you could create grooves of negativity, why not positivity?
Give yourself time and patience.
So start right now - a healthier, happier you is waiting.
